Moroni, Giovanni Battista, portrait- and historical painter, was born at Albino about 1510, and became a pupil of II Moretto, the Brescian. Of his excellent portraits, The Tailor, in the National Gallery, is a good example. His pictures may be studied at the Brera Gallery, Milan, at Florence, Verona, Dresden, and Munich. He died in 1578.
