Gwennawi, the language of the negroes of Morocco. Most of the slaves in this region speak the Arabic dialect of their masters; but they also carefully preserve and hand down from generation to generation the Soudanese idiom, which they call Luyha el Gwennawia, "Language of the Blacks," which appears to be a Mandingo or Bambarra dialect.
