Grace

Grace, in its Scriptural sense, denotes both the free favour and love of God towards men, which they have done nothing to deserve, and the condition of those who enjoy this divine favour. Divines have distinguished between common or qeneral and special or particular grace. The former is identical with the light of nature or conscience, and is granted to all mankind, while Christians alone receive the gift of special grace, which endows the recipient with spiritual knowledge and stimulates him to all good works.
