Eilethyia

Eilethyia, a city of ancient Egypt below Edf u, on the right bank of the Nile, sacred to the goddess Suben - later identified with Lucina - the patroness of Upper Egypt. There are rock-tombs hewn in the rock, and dating from the 13th dynasty and later. One has records of the wars against the Hyksos in the 18th dynasty. There are two very ancient temples, one to Ra, and the other to the local deities, and a temple of the time of the Ptolemys to Lucina. The city was an important outlying fortress.
