Duchesne Jean Baptiste Joseph

Duchesne, Jean Baptiste Joseph, born at Gisors, France, in 1770, acquired a high reputation as a miniature painter, exercising his art until within a year or two of his death in 1856. He continued Petitot's series of enamels in the Louvre, and his portraits of Napoleon I., Louis Philippe, the Duchesses of Angouletne and Berry, and other historical personages, are highly interesting.
