Accrah

Accrah, a town in W. Africa, under British jurisdiction, about 75 miles N.E. from Cape Coast Castle. The Danes and Dutch had also factories here, called Christiansborg and Crevecoeur, but both have been ceded to Britain. Exports: Gold dust, ivory, palm oil, ground nuts, etc. Imports: Piece goods, hardware, guns, knives, spirits, etc. It is now the seat of government in the Gold Coast Settlement.
