Wafers

Wafers, thin brittle discs of dried paste, usually made of flour and water, which, in the case of coloured wafers, are mixed with the non-poisonous colouring matter. They were formerly used as a ground on which to stamp seals, but the purpose to which they are now chiefly put is that of fastening papers together.
