United Presbyterians

United Presbyterians, a division of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland, having its origin in the Union (1847) of the Secession Church, formed in 1733 under the auspices of Erskine, with the Relief Church, formed in 1752 as a protest against patronage and to vindicate the rights of election of incumbents. Various attempts have been made to reconcile the United Presbyterians to the mother Church.
