Rosario

Rosario, a town of Argentina, in the province of Santa Fe, on the right bank of the Parana, 170 miles N.W. of Buenos Ayres. It is 60 feet above the river, and has greatly improved of late years with the development of the railway which passes through from Buenos Ayres to Tucuman. The river is navigable for large vessels, and there is regular steam communication with Buenos Ayres. The chief exports are wheat, maize, hides, skins, preserved meat, flour, timber, copper, and wool.
