Rio Grandedo Sul

Rio Grande do Sul, a southern maritime province of Brazil, largely settled by Germans, lies to the E. and N. of Uruguay and La Plata, and contains 91,000 square miles. Along the coast are lakes, the chief of which are Lake Patos and Lake Mirim. The rivers of the S.E. flow to Lake Mirim, those of the S.W. to the Parana and Uruguay.
