Kitchen Midden

Kitchen-Midden, a translation of the Danish Kjbhken-modding, the name originally given to the pre-historic refuse-heaps containing shells, bones, and implements, and at one time supposed to be raised beaches. Similar heaps occur in Great Britain, France, America, and Australia.
