Kidnapping

Kidnapping. The forcible taking away of a man, woman, or child from their own country and conveying them into another. It was a capital crime by the Jewish and civil laws, and is punishable under the English common law. Abduction or detention of children is punished by penal servitude under 24 and 25 Viet. e. 100.
