Karotis, a chief branch of the Povindah Afghans, who occupy the Dvva Gomal Valley and the hills east of Paltu; three main divisions: Zaku Khel, Ya Khel, and Adin Khel; appear to be originally Ghilzaes, who joined the Povindahs in comparatively recent times.
