Gynandrophore

Gynandrophore, an elongation of the floral axis within the flower below the stamens, so that both andrcecium and gyncecium are carried upon a stalk. This structure is but rarely developed and gives the name Gynandropsis to a genus, allied to the capers, in which it does occur.
