Fowler

Fowler, Sir John, born 1817 at Sheffield, is a noted civil engineer. He took part in the construction of the London, Brighton, and South Coast Railway, the Underground Railway, and in river and dock works, and was knighted in 1885 for services in Egypt. He has since, in connection with Sir Benjamin Baker, constructed the Forth Bridge.
