Fairfax Edward

Fairfax, Edward, an English poet, who flourished about 1600, in which year he published his metrical version of Tasso's Jerusalem Delivered, a work that received the praise of Waller, Dryden, and James I. He was also the author of a History of the Black Prince in verse and a prose treatise on Demomology.
