Endymion

Endymion, according to one legend, a Greek shepnerd who was beloved by Selene (the Moon), who put him to sleep on Mount Latmos in order to enjoy his company. His sleep is also said to have been inflicted by Zeus as a. punishment for falling in love with Here, or in answer to his prayer for eternal youth. The legend forms the subject of Keats' charming poem, Endgmion.
