Cuttack

Cuttack, the capital of the central district of Orissa, Bengal, at the point of the Mahanuddy delta, and 220 miles S.W. of Calcutta. It is noted for its gold and silver filigree work. The population of the district, which contains 3,157 square miles, is about 4-1/2 millions.
