Choroid

Choroid, the coat of the eyeball lying between the sclerotic externally and the retina within, and terminating in front in the ciliary processes. The choroid coat is highly vascular and deeply pigmented. It is sometimes affected by inflammation (choroiditis). The existence of such a condition is readily detected by ophthalmoscopic examination.
