Chacriaba, a warlike Brazilian nation formerly dominant in the province of Goyaz, towards the frontier of Minas-Geraes. They were at constant feud with their Acroa neighbours, and also harassed the white colonists on the Parana river. But after repeated defeats, and unable to resist the firearms of the Portuguese, they submitted to Governor Vasconcellos, who settled them in the district of Rio-das-Pedras.
