Cesena

Cesena, a cathedral town of Central Italy, 12 miles S.E. of Forli, has a trade in silk, hemp, wine, and sulphur, and produces good brick earth. Two Popes - Pius VI. and Pius VII. - were born there, and there is a celebrated shrine of Madonna del Monte. This town was one of the first to revolt from the Papal authority in 1859.
