Cardia

Cardia, the Greek word for the heart. The inner lining of the heart is hence known as the endocardium, and the outer lining as the pericardium. The adjective cardiac is also extensively used. The portion of the stomach lying in close proximity to the heart is called the cardiac end of the stomach, in contradistinction to the pyloric end adjoining the pylorus. [Stomach.]
