Bungalow

Bungalow (Hindustani Bangla, i.e. a Bengalese house), a one-storeyed house, usually built of unbaked bricks, and with a thatched roof. The name probably comes from the district where Englishmen noticed it first. A dawk (dak) bungalow is a house maintained, usually by the Government, where travellers can break their journey and find fresh horses or men.
