Bladder-nut, a name applied to Staphylea pinnata and S. trifoliata, shrubs belonging to the sub-order Staphyleae in the order Sapindaceae. They have opposite, stipulate, pinnate leaves, and pendulous clusters of small white flowers succeeded by an inflated capsule of two or three partly-united carpels. Their geographical distribution is wide, and they are grown for ornament in our shrubberies.
