Bhuias, collective name of numerous non-Aryan or mixed low-caste peoples, North India, from Gondava and Orissa to West Assam, in Chota Nagpor, Bengal, etc. Four main divisions: Mal or Desh, Dandsena, Khatti, Rajkal; speech, Oriya, Bengali, Hindi, according to the localities, the primitive Kolarian tongues being long extinct.
