Baghtsche-serai, or Baktshi-serai, a Tarter town which was once the capital of the Crimea, Russia. It is about 10 miles S.W. of Simferopol, and besides many mosques and fountains contains the old palace of Khan-serai. Turkish saddles and silk are the chief manufactures.
