| Mythology of LoreleiLorelei. In German legend a siren who haunted a rock of the same name on the right bank of the Rhine. She combed her hair with a golden comb, and sang a wild song which enticed fishermen and sailors to destruction on the rocks and rapids at the foot of the precipice. In Northern mythology Lorelei is represented as immortal, a daughter of the Rhine, and dwelling in the river bed.
