XIII. Covetousness

Mark 7:21 - For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,

Mark 7:22 - Covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lustfulness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness:

Luke 12:15 - And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of every form of greed: for a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.

Luke 12:16 - And he spoke a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

Luke 12:17 - And he thought to himself, What shall I do, because I have no room to store my crops?

Luke 12:18 - And he said, This is what I will do: I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones; and there I will store all my grain and goods.

Luke 12:19 - And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

Luke 12:20 - But God said to him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then who shall own those things, which you have prepared?

Luke 12:21 - So it is with him who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
