XXIV. Trust in God's Providence

Matthew 6:25 - Therefore I say to you, Do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:26 - Behold the birds of the air: they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

Matthew 6:27 - Which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to the span of his life?

Matthew 6:28 - And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they do not toil, nor do they spin:

Matthew 6:29 - And yet I say to you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Matthew 6:30 - Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith?

Matthew 6:31 - Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?

Matthew 6:32 - After all these things the Gentiles seek: but your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:34 - Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall be anxious for itself. Sufficient for each day are the troubles of its own.

Luke 12:6 - Are not five sparrows sold for twopence, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

Luke 12:7 - But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear: you are of more value than many sparrows.

Luke 12:22 - And he said to his disciples, Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat; or for the body, what you shall put on.

Luke 12:24 - Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storehouse or barn; yet God feeds them: how much more valuable are you than the birds!

Luke 12:25 - And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature?

Luke 12:26 - If you then are not able to do such a small thing, why are you anxious about the rest?

Luke 12:27 - Consider the lilies, how they grow: they do not toil or spin; and yet I say to you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Luke 12:28 - If then God so clothes the grass, which is in the field today, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

Luke 12:29 - And do not seek what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, and do not be of an anxious mind.

Luke 12:30 - For the nations of the world seek after all these things: and your Father knows that you have need of them.

Luke 12:31 - But rather seek the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added to you.

Luke 12:32 - Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
