XXXI. The Beatitudes

Matthew 5:8 - Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Luke 6:20 - And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed are you who are poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

Matthew 5:10 - Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:3 - Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:9 - Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:5 - Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:6 - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Luke 6:21 - Blessed are you who hunger now: for you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now: for you shall laugh.

Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are those who mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Matthew 5:7 - Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 5:11 - Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Luke 6:22 - Blessed are you, when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Matthew 5:12 - Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:23 - Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward in heaven is great: for their fathers did the same to the prophets.

Matthew 11:6 - And blessed is he who does not find cause to stumble over me.

Luke 7:23 - And blessed is he who does not stumble over me.

Matthew 13:16 - But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Luke 10:23 - And he turned to his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see:
