VII. The Betrayal

Matthew 17:22 - And when they came together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:

Matthew 26:2 - You know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man will be delivered up to be crucified.

Matthew 26:21 - And as they ate, he said, Truly I say to you, that one of you shall betray me.

John 13:18 - I do not speak of all of you: I know whom I have chosen: but it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.

John 13:19 - Now I tell you before it happens, that, when it has come to pass, you may believe that I am he.

Mark 14:18 - And as they sat and ate, Jesus said, Truly I say to you, One of you who eats with me shall betray me.

John 13:21 - When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you shall betray me.

Luke 22:21 - But, behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.

Matthew 26:23 - And he answered and said, He who dipped his hand with me in the dish shall betray me.

Mark 14:20 - And he answered them, It is one of the twelve, one who dips with me in the bowl.

John 13:26 - Jesus answered, It is he to whom I shall give this morsel, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

Matthew 26:25 - Then Judas, who betrayed him, answered and said, Teacher, is it I? He said to him, You have said it.

John 13:27 - And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, What you do, do quickly.

Matthew 26:24 - The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it would have been better for that man if he had not been born.

Mark 14:21 - The Son of man shall indeed go, just as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it would be better for that man if he had never been born.

Luke 22:22 - Truly the Son of man goes, as it was determined: but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!

Matthew 26:46 - Rise, let us be going: behold, he who betrays me is at hand.

Mark 14:42 - Rise up, let us go; behold, he who betrays me is at hand.

Matthew 26:50 - And Jesus said to him, Friend, do that which you have come for. Then they came, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Luke 22:48 - But Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?

John 18:4 - Then Jesus, knowing all that would come upon him, went forth, and said to them, Whom do you seek?

John 18:5 - They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said to them, I am he. And Judas, who betrayed him, stood with them.

John 18:7 - Then he asked them again, Whom do you seek? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

John 18:8 - Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: therefore if you seek me, let these men go their way:

Matthew 26:55 - In that same hour Jesus said to the multitudes, Do you come out to take me with swords and clubs, as if I was a thief ? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you did not lay hold on me.

Mark 14:48 - And Jesus said to them, Have you come out, as against a thief, with swords and clubs to take me?

Mark 14:49 - I was with you daily in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

Luke 22:52 - Then Jesus said to the chief priests, and officers of the temple, and the elders, who had come to him, Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs?

Luke 22:53 - When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch forth hands against me: but this is your hour, when darkness reigns.

John 18:23 - Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why do you strike me?
