Pizarro, Francisco. Born in 1475. Brutal Spanish conqueror of Peru. Embarked for America in 1510 and, after having once visited Peru, he returned in 1531, and taking advantage of a civil war, got possession of that country, founding Lima in 1535. Assassinated, 1541.
