Nepos, Cornelius. A Roman historian who flourished during the time of Julius Caesar and the first six years of the reign of Augustus. He enjoyed the friendship of Cicero, and his only extant work "Vitae Excellentium Imperatorum," is held in high esteem as an educational classbook.
