Du Maurier, George Louis Palmella Busson. Artist and draftsman. Born in Paris in 1834. Educated in London, Belgium, and the Netherlands. For many years a valuable contributor to "Punch," at the same time illustrating many other books and magazines. His mode of satirizing the extravagances of the so-called "Aesthetic" school and other society foibles have procured for him a high reputation. In 1891 he published a novel, "Peter Ibbestson," followed by "Trilby." Died 1896.
