Borromeo, St. Carlo (bor-ro-ma'-o). Cardinal and archbishop of Milan, a prominent member of the Council of Trent, contributed to the Tridentine Catechism, and was conspicuous by his self-sacrificing offices during a plague in the city of which he was the archbishop. Born 1538, died 1584.
