Bergson, Henry. Philosopher. Born at Paris in 1859. Educated at Lycee Condorcet, Ecole Normale. Professor of philosophy, Lycee d'Angers, 1881-83; Lycdee de Clermont, 1883-88; professor at the College Rollin, 1888-89; Lycee Henry IV, 1889-96; at the Ecole Normale Superieure, 1897-1900; at the College of France since 1900. Elected to the French Academy, 1914. Author: "Matter and Memory," "Creative Evolution."
