Brown-Sequard, Edward. Born in 1881. American physician and physiologist, was appointed successively professor of pathology at Harvard, professor to the faculty of medicine at Paris, and succeeded Claude Bernard in the chair of experimental medicine at the College of France. He published two important series of lectures on the "Paralysis of the Lower Extremities" and on "Nervous Affections." Died 1894.
