Beveridge, Albert Jeremiah. Born on a farm in Highland County, OH, October 6, 1862. His father and brothers were soldiers in the Union Army. Was graduated at De Pauw University, Greencastle, IN, in 1885. Was admitted to the bar in 1886, and then devoted himself to his profession. Was married first to Katherine M. Langsdale in 1887, who died in 1900; second, in 1907, to Katherine Eddy of Chicago. Was elected to the Senate of the United States in 1899 for the term beginning March 4 following; was re-elected in 1905. He was the author of "The Russian Advance," "The Young Man and the World," and was a frequent magazine contributor.
