Burr, Aaron. Born in 1756. A vice-president of the United States, distinguished himself in the War of Independence. In 1807 he was arrested on a charge of conspiracy. It was supposed that he aimed to separate the western states from the Union and annex them to Mexico but, after a famous trial, he was acquitted. Died 1836.
